Gizzmo's New LI-2 Launch Control Interface integrates with the Gizzmo Shift
Light to enable the fully adjustable launch control
function. The launch control function induces sequential misfire
events at the desired rpm set by the user.
The new LI-2 Launch Interface is the next generation of Launch Interface, housing the fastest processor we have ever used on anything. This time around, Gizzmo’s launch interface also supports Toyotas and Rotary Engines. In addition, the LI2 has adjustable timing retard and more triggering options to make launching easier and better than ever before.
The LI2 is an accessory to the DSII-L, TRII or TRII-R Shift lights and as such will not operate independent of these. The DSII-L is available here at this link.
Hey, just wanted to shoot you a msg to let you know the new gizmo launch control is 2 million times better than the last one! I have my ignition retarded 36 degrees and I build 30psi of boost at launch now .... it brought my times down 1 second from the old launch system and I am totally happy with it27 Sept 2009, From the first LI-2 Launch Controller Sold in the U.S.A. !

In a turbo application, having the throttle open while inducing
misfire increase the velocity and density of exhaust gases,
allowing
the turbo to spool up and generate boost with load. This results in
boost being generated before launching and therefore allowing a
vehicle to launch with considerably more power.
Must be used with the appropriate Gizzmo Shift Light

The ignition cut is clutch activated allowing flat changing (the ability to change gear without removing your foot from the throttle). With the clutch engaged the rpm will pull back to the launch rpm previously set by the user in order to avoid over revving, this results in the vehicle not coming off boost while moving through the gears.
Launch control can benefit natural aspirated cars by giving a consistent launch rpm for best results every time, and enable quicker gear changes through flat changing.

LI-2 Launch Controll will NOT work ON THE FOLLOWING:
* Where misfire detection initiates a hard fault
* Where there is no speed sensor to provide data
* Ignition systems requiring more than 6 channels (see example
below)
* Ignition systems with intelligent off board igniters, i.e.
ignitions that communicate with the igniter signal
* Ignition Systems that send a receipt of spark back to the ECU
(except for Toyota that it is compatible for 4 cyl, not for 6 cyl +
feedback, see example)
EXAMPLE - MORE THAN 6 CHANNELS:
Although the LI2 can sort out the Toyota feedback system, the 2JZ
Supra requires 7 channels, 6 channels, one for each cylinder + a
feedback channel = 7 channels which it cannot accommodate.
